Opened on October 5, 1996, Bokcheon Museum provides total information about Bokcheon Ancient Tombs which was designated as National Historical Relics No. 273. it was built up for the purpose of representing and making known to people the cultures of Gaya and Shilla, both of which were the kingdoms that covered the region of Busan in the ancient times. Lots of relics from Bokcheon Ancient Tombs are the key to solve mysteries of the unknown kingdom, Gaya.

Exhibition Hall #1
In Exhibition Hall 1, you can meet the history and culture of the Three-Han Period, which is the origin of the Three-kingdom Period, understand how the region of Busan was after the kingdom of Gaya fell and see the size and interior images of bokcheon Ancient Tombs. The region of Busan belonged to one of the 12 Byeonhan nations in the Three-Han Period, enjoyed the brilliant Gaya culture in the Three-Kingdom Period and, since the mid 5th century, became a territory of Shilla. These changes are suggested by Nopo, Bokcheon and Yeonsan Ancient Tombs all of which were founed in the region.

Shapes of Bokcheon Ancient Tombs
Bokcheon Ancient Tombs are largely classified into wooden-chamber and shaft stome-chamber tombs, most of which were sizeably formed along hill stops. The shapes of the grouped ancient tombs are different from each other in accordance with the times, providing meaningful information for researching ancient tombs of Gaya.
